QuitNow Privacy

Effective 20 October 2026. This policy applies to the QuitNow app (com.x70.QuitNow). Personal Screen Time controls with local app selections and an optional online account for accepted friends, manually shared goals, and extra-time codes. This policy covers the 1.0 (54) review candidate; earlier Journey archives are not uploaded by the account service.

2. What x70 collects

Core sessions, schedules, daily app limits, Screen Time selections, and NFC tag configuration do not require a QuitNow account. The account service does not receive selected-app or category tokens, measured Screen Time reports, NFC tag secrets, or earlier Journey records.
If you choose Friends and Sign in with Apple, x70 receives your app-specific Apple user identifier and the name Apple supplies for that sign-in, and creates an account identifier and authenticated sessions. The app requests the name scope, not Apple's email scope. Apple authorization grants are encrypted on the server; session credentials are stored as hashes there.
The service stores accepted-friend relationships, invitations, manually shared daily/session goals and optional goal notes, and extra-time code, redemption, grant and cooldown records. Shared goals are user-entered statements, not measured app usage. Accepted friends can see your displayed name and goals you choose to share.
This account-linked information is used to provide and secure the account, friendship and code features. The account backend is hosted on Convex in Europe (Ireland). It is separate from local Screen Time enforcement and does not remotely operate another person's phone.
Separate from Apple-controlled device diagnostics, Convex processes service-execution and technical diagnostic metadata to operate the hosted service. The inspected QuitNow application code does not add request-body, credential or goal-content logging, or an advertising or product-analytics integration. This is not a promise of zero infrastructure logs or zero provider retention.

3. Data kept by the app

Screen Time selections and rule configuration are kept on the device and in the app's local shared container for its Screen Time extensions. NFC tag setup and local recovery controls are not synchronized through the Friends backend.
The account client stores its device-session credentials in the iOS Keychain. A server grant provides a bounded extra-time allowance; actual shielding remains an on-device Apple Screen Time function.
Existing legacy Journey archives are not sent to the account service. This update does not turn those historical local records into an online profile.

4. When data leaves the device

Optional Apple sign-in and Convex account service

Choosing Friends sign-in sends Apple's app-specific identity proof, authorization code and supplied display name to the dedicated QuitNow account service. Apple is contacted to exchange, validate and revoke authorization. Convex provides hosting and storage for the account and friend records described above. No device address book, selected-app list or measured Screen Time report is uploaded in this flow.

Friend invitations, goals and extra-time codes

You choose whether to create or accept an invitation and whether to share a goal. You can stop sharing a goal or remove a friend. A code is bound to an accepted recipient, expires after 10 minutes and grants 15 minutes with a recipient-wide cooldown; it is not a channel for viewing another person's measured app usage.

Apple StoreKit

Apple processes the existing QuitNow Full lifetime purchase and restoration. The app reads verified entitlement and product information; x70 does not receive your payment-card details. The seven-day trial starts only when you choose it and does not automatically bill or create a subscription.

Links and support

A website or support link you choose is handled under that service's own policy. Visiting this policy website is separate from the native account and Screen Time features.

5. Permissions

Apple Screen Time authorization is required for app/category selection and restrictions. You remain in control of that authorization in iOS.
Sign in with Apple is optional and is used for Friends. The name Apple supplies becomes the account's display name; the app does not request the Apple email scope.
NFC actions require a compatible iPhone and a user-owned writable tag. A scan previews the configured action for confirmation; this does not grant remote control or override other active rules.

6. Tracking, advertising, and analytics

QuitNow does not track you across apps or websites, sell app data, show third-party advertising, or include a developer-operated product-analytics SDK. System diagnostics remain controlled by your Apple device settings unless you deliberately share information with support.

7. Retention and deletion

Local rule and selection data remains on the device until removed through the available app/system controls or the app is removed, subject to Apple-controlled backup and Keychain behavior. Removing the app alone does not delete an online account.
Access credentials last 15 minutes. Refresh sessions expire after 180 days of inactivity and renew on successful rotation. Expired challenges, invitations and inactive session records are cleaned in bounded maintenance jobs. Expired code and grant records are retained for approximately 30 days for retry and authorization history, then cleaned.
Account deletion first requests revocation of the stored Apple authorization. On success the account is disabled immediately and its profile, goals, sessions, relationships, codes and grants are erased in bounded jobs. An unsuccessful or offline request does not claim deletion; retry when the service is reachable. Removing a friend or withdrawing a goal changes visibility without claiming deletion of the entire account.
Hosting-service operational logs and backups follow Convex's service handling. The app does not promise that an account-deletion request instantly removes provider-controlled logs or backup copies.

8. Support, rights, and security

If you email support, x70 receives the contact information and message you choose to send. Do not include sensitive app records unless they are necessary for your request. Support correspondence is handled under the main x70 website Privacy Policy.

Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or object to processing. Email contact@x70.one. You may also complain to the Bayerisches Landesamt für Datenschutzaufsicht (BayLDA).

The app uses Apple platform protections appropriate to the data it stores. No storage method is risk-free, so keep your device updated, use a device passcode, and protect exported archives yourself.

9. Audience and safety

QuitNow is intended for adults managing their own Screen Time. It is not medical treatment, emergency assistance, a tamper-proof whole-device lock, or remote parental control. This update does not introduce a child-account service.

10. Changes

A material change to the app's data handling will be reflected in this policy and, where required, in the App Store privacy disclosure before the changed feature is released.
